Comprehensive P&I insurance for vessel operators
Protection and indemnity (P&I) insurance is a type of liability insurance specifically designed to address unique risks faced by vessel operators. Brown & Brown can help advise you on insurance coverage against liability incurred from injury or illness of crew/passengers, damage caused to cargo during transit, and liabilities arising out of a collision. Additionally, we can help offer your business protection against civil liability due to oil spills/pollution.
Coverage Options
Two ways to provide protection & indemnity coverage:
- Fixed limit P&I through the open market (for tug, barge, marine construction, ports, terminals)
- P&I Club via mutual entry as required for ocean going/blue water vessels
Basic Ports and Terminals Insurance Coverage
- All risks for damage to port property and equipment
- All risks to port craft
- Business Interruption
- Third-party and legal liability to third parties in respect of bodily injury, death and property damage arising out of the assureds’ activities
- Errors and omissions
