1-Hour Motor Vehicles, Mechanized Equipment and Marine Operations; Rollover Protective Structures and Overhead Protection; and Signs, Signals and Barricades

16-Hour SST Supervisor Refresher

This course covers construction safety topics. Students will learn about pre-task meetings, fall prevention, scaffold usage, and toolbox talks. Topics include regulatory requirements, hazard recognition, accident prevention, and communication strategies.

2-Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness

Students will first become familiar with the adverse effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace and learn to recognize problems associated with substance dependency. They will understand the purpose of the training is to avoid working under the influence and develop skills to prevent substance-related consequences. Additionally, they'll learn to recognize and understand issues of chemical dependence affecting others and explore available assistance.

2-Hour Pre-Task Meeting

Students will learn the purpose and proper presentation of pre-task meetings. Additionally, they will become aware of administrative regulatory requirements associated with pre-task meetings and record keeping standards.

2-Hour Site Safety Plan (SSP)

Students will become familiar with plans and site safety protocols, learning to gather project-specific information for inclusion in the Site Safety Plan (SSP). They will ensure that the SSP adheres to NYC DOB’s Chapter 33 and associated laws, rules, and regulations. Additionally, students will address potential hazards based on the scope of work outlined in the site safety plan, while also gaining knowledge on submitting, filing, updating, and maintaining such plans.

2-Hour Tool Box Talks

Students will become familiar with Toolbox Talks as a quick and easy way for competent persons to reinforce and supplement established training efforts of an employer and keep safety and health compliance at the forefront of all workers minds. Additionally, the class will heighten students’ awareness of the need for effective toolbox talks. Moreover, it will demonstrate how to obtain feedback from workers when providing toolbox talks so the talks can become more relevant to what tasks workers are performing. Furthermore, the class will demonstrate how effective toolbox talks can increase camaraderie, communication, and overall jobsite culture.

30-Hour Concrete Safety Manager

Concrete Safety Manager (CSM) must be designated on all major buildings in New York City (NYC) where 2000 cubic yards or more of concrete will be placed on an entire project. CSMs must have completed this 30-Hour Concrete Safety Manager course within 5 years before applying for the license. Join this course April 14th at 2:00 PM EST.

4-Hour Fall Prevention

Students will become generally familiar with terms associated with falls in construction. Additionally, they will be able to recognize, avoid, and prevent fall hazards from causing harm. Moreover, students should become aware of regulatory safety requirements associated with falls, including OSHA’s Subpart M. Furthermore, they will learn how to make informed decisions when working from heights.

4-Hour Supported Scaffold User & Refresher

Students will become generally familiar with various supported scaffolds and components, learn about common causes of accidents and prevention, review sections of OSHA 1926 and NYC Construction Codes, receive instructions on navigating the DOB website, understand fall protection principles and equipment, be educated on scaffold use and inspections, and become familiar with emergency situations and preparedness procedures.

8-Hour Fall Prevention

Trainees will become generally familiar with terms associated with falls in construction, enabling them to recognize, avoid, and prevent fall hazards from causing harm. They will also gain awareness of regulatory safety requirements, including OSHA’s Subpart M, before learning how to make informed decisions when working at heights.

8-Hour Site Safety Manager Refresher / Chapter 33

This course is a renewal requirement for the holder of a NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager or Site Safety Coordinator Certificate. This course is also a required course that can help fulfill the requirement for an individual applying for a Site Safety Training Card.
