Geoff works closely with corporate policyholders and their directors and officers to resolve high-stakes insurance disputes. He leads the firm’s directors and officers (D&O) insurance and executive protection practice.
As a partner in Hunton’s top-ranked insurance coverage practice, Geoff has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for clients across industries, including finance, energy, and retail. He has received national recognition for his policyholder work from organizations like Chambers USA, Legal 500 US, and Benchmark Litigation.
Geoff also counsels policyholders on a wide range of other insurance claims and issues, including professional liability and errors and omission (E&O), cybersecurity and data breaches, bankruptcy and insolvency, employee theft and fidelity claims, government investigations, environmental liabilities, business interruption, and property damage. He is an experienced trial and appellate advocate and also excels at resolving coverage disputes through settlement negotiation, mediation, and other alternative dispute resolution, without the need for litigation.
Aaron is the National Director of Claims at Brown & Brown. In this capacity, Aaron works closely with both internal and external clients and manages B&B’ team of claim professionals, who serve as consultants to the brokerage and marketing teams by identifying exposures and tracking liability trends. He and his team also advise clients and advocate on their behalf in the claims and insurance proceeds recovery process.
Aaron has over 16 years of insurance carrier experience working for St. Paul Companies, Travelers, OneBeacon, and Intact in various Claims Management capacities. He has experience with various types of coverage, including standard Property & Casualty coverages as well as many Specialty Lines of business. Prior to working in the insurance industry, Aaron was an attorney in private practice in Minnesota for 12 years.
