State of GLP-1 Medication Coverage for Weight Loss | Employer Survey Results

Brown & Brown conducted a survey in June of 2025* to better understand employer benefit strategies and tactics surrounding GLP-1 coverage for weight loss. Key findings include:

• For those that cover GLP-1s for weight loss (31%), more than half (59%) have some type of restrictions in place.
• More than three in ten (31%) of those covering GLP-1s for weight loss are considering dropping, or unsure about continuing coverage, in the next 12-24 months.
• 71% of all respondents are considering alternative access arrangements, such as Direct-to- Consumer programs for their members.
